Sudoku Vario 1.0 - Setup

iPhone application from Weston Digital Solutions

After the download from iTunes and installation, Sudoku Vario uses your iPhone's standardized Settings feature for game configuration. Here you can change our default values including game type (Vario) and grid (Matrix). Sound effects can also be muted.

When you want to race against the clock, don't forget to set your countdown time. Default value is 5 min. (300 sec).

Sudoku Vario offers multiple skill levels named level of difficulty in the setup menu. The left side of the slider offers the best chances for you to solve the puzzle in less than 10 minutes.

At these low levels our program generates random table for one solution only. Targeting advanced gamers a Pro version is under development.

At the very first run popup windows help you navigate in the screen. Touch one of them to hide this initial feature.

On the top of the screen you can find our menubar and green statusbar with game timer. The game table and keypad is easy to be identified.

Touch Game to change the table and start a new game.

Vario: numbers, letters, symbols and images.

Matrix sizes: 6x6, 8x8 and 9x9 with different layout of regions - 2x3, 3x2, 4x2, 2x4 and the classic 3x3.

Here you can switch on or off the countdown timer and find our About infobox as well. Last settings are saved.

Although not technically a requirement, many geek consider symmetrical puzzles to be the only "true" Sudoku. We tend to agree, but find non-symmetrical layouts more fun to play.

Play with Sudoku Vario

iPhone application

Sudoku Vario is a simplified sudoku game and easy to use.

To solve the puzzle, every row, column and region must include all numbers. No number is allowed to be duplicated or omitted. Some so called 'given numbers' in dark blue color have already been inserted into the puzzle.

The higher number of pre-inserted cells indicates a lower level of difficulty.

Find the empty cell you want to fill. Tap the cell. A yellow question mark will popup.

Then tap the bottom keypad with the possible values for the game. The desired number fills the cell immediately.

Undo function is simple: retap the desired cell and the value is cleared.

There’s also a dedicated erase button called Retry. It offers you a fresh restart in the very same puzzle as all 'solved' cells are cleared.

You can overview the table with the use of Check button. This error-checking option can identify incorrect or missing cell value(s).

You can set a new table at any time. Touch the Draw button of the top menubar. Within the same Vario and Matrix configuration a new game will be offered.
